Below is a chart of friends of mine living in the San Francisco Bay Area who are:
- currently unemployed
- partially/sporadically employed and having trouble finding full-time employment, or
- planning to be unemployed in the near future due to job dissatisfaction
I’m not sure if this means that I attract a disproportionate number of losers or that this is representative of what educated, white American people do in their 20s and 30s because a) they can’t find jobs with the useless degrees they chose to pursue against all practical advice or b) because they feel too entitled to stick with jobs they consider intellectually unworthy. Either way, it seems that my friends and I, the so-called crème de la crème of our generation, are falling short of expectations.
