The Boyfriend had a $25 for $50 Popsugar City coupon for Rendezvous Tapas Lounge, so we had dinner there last night. We ordered seven tapas (including dessert) and three drinks. This may sound like an excessive amount of food, but their portions were conservative, and we ended up eating almost everything.
Here’s my assessment:
Red Lentil Soup–rich and tasty. The coconut milk made the lentil soup pleasantly creamy.
Steamed Fresh Mussels with fries–the best dish of the night, in my opinion. The mussels were soft, the fries were fresh and crisp, and the sauce was delicious (we ended up dipping the fries in it).
Lamb Sliders–warm and lamby tasting.
Octopus Carpaccio–we were hesitant about this as we expected it to be rubbery. The server told us that the octopus would be thinly sliced, tender, and not rubbery at all—and she was right. The meat was good, and I liked the small grapefruit slices they put on top of the carpaccio, but I would’ve enjoyed the whole thing more if it hadn’t been drenched in olive oil.
Charcuterie Plate–decent but nothing special.
Chicken Skewers–tasty and more like meatballs than skewers. They would do well to rename it accordingly.
Dessert Sampler Trio–included Orange Blossom Beignets, Flourless Chocolate Torte, and Strawberry Clafoutis. The beignets were the best.
